About the Afrique Expansion Forum

The Afrique Expansion Forum is a biennial event organized by Afrique Expansion since 2003 in Montreal with the support of the African Development Bank and in partnership with the Canadian Council on Africa for this 7th edition in 2017.

Its main objective is to provide innovative tools and approaches to increase private investment in Africa and to bring African project leaders to Canada to showcase business opportunities in their countries to Canadian companies and organizations.

Recognized for organizing successful B2B meetings among participants, the Afrique Expansion Forum also allows Canadian companies to update themselves on the political situation in some African countries, the business environment and project funding.

The Afrique Expansion Forum hosted high-level African personalities such as former President of Mali, Alpha Oumar KONARÉ; the former President of Nigeria, Olusegun OBASANJO; the current Vice-President of Côte d’Ivoire and then Prime Minister Daniel KABLAN DUNCAN. It also welcomed high-level Canadian personalities including Quebec Prime Minister Philippe Couillard and key financial institutions such as the World Bank, the African Development Bank and AfreximBank.

Scheduled at the Center Sheraton Montréal on October 2 and 3, 2017, the Afrique Expansion Forum will bring together hundreds of participants including corporate presidents, high-level African and Canadian policy-makers, stakeholders from international organizations and non-governmental organizations.
