Le conseil d’administration du Conseil Canadien pour l’Afrique a annoncé vendredi dernier que Monsieur Jean Gauthier a démissionné de son poste de président et chef de la direction. Afin d’assurer une transition en douceur, Monsieur Nola Kianza, membre du conseil et fondateur de CCAfrique, a été nominé au poste de président et chef de la direction, effectif le vendredi 14 octobre 2016.
M. Kianza, est un entrepreneur et il possède une vaste expérience de travail avec des organisations à but non lucratif, l’industrie manufacturière, le secteur de ventes au détail et le commerce international .
M. Jean Gauthier fait face à de graves problèmes de santé inattendus. Afin de veiller à ses problèmes de santé, M. Gauthier a conclu qu’il était temps pour lui de «passer le flambeau» et a donc remis sa démission au conseil d’administration.
«Jean a apporté d’innombrables contributions au succès de CCAfrique, et il laisse derrière lui une organisation avec des bases solides.» a déclaré M. Benoit La Salle, président du conseil d’administration. « Nous comprenons et supportons sa décision de se retirer pour des raisons de santé et lui souhaitons un prompt rétablissement.»
M. Gauthier a été le président et chef de la direction et membre du conseil d’administration de CCAfrique depuis octobre 2013. Il est un expert grandement respecté, ayant plus de 35 ans d’expérience dans le service public. Il est aussi secrétaire/Trésorier de la Chambre du Commerce Canada-Nigéria et l’un des lauréats du Prix PAFSO de 2005.

The Canadian Council on Africa’s (CCAfrica) Board of Directors announced on Friday that Jean Gauthier has resigned as President and Chief Executive Officer. To ensure an orderly transition, Mr. Nola Kianza, Director of the Board and Founder of CCAfrica, was nominated to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer effective as of Friday, October 14th, 2016.
Mr. Kianza is the Founder of the Canadian Council on Africa and Executive Chairman of Trans Africa Business Corporation. He has extensive experience working with non profit organizations, within the manufacturing industry, the retail/wholesale sector and international trade.
Mr. Gauthier is facing unexpected and serious health conditions. In order to take care of his health issues Mr. Gauthier has decided it is time to « pass the torch » and has submitted his resignation to the Board.
Benoit La Salle, Chairman of the Board of Directors said: « Jean has made countless contributions to CCAfrica’s success and he leaves CCAfrica as a solid organization. We understand and support his decision to step down for health reasons and wish him a prompt recovery. »
Mr. Gauthier was appointed to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of CCAfrica in October 2013. He is a widely respected expert with more than 35 years in public service. He is also the Secretary/Treasurer of the Canada Nigeria Chamber of Commerce, and one of the 2005 PAFSO Award Recipients.
