SUMMARY:Third Senegal Economic Forum in Canada
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row text_align=”center”][vc_column width=”1/3″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″] REGISTER[/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_tabs style=”modern” active_section=”1″ title=”About the Forum”][vc_tta_section title=”About SEFC” tab_id=”1441874218694-385c7ca7-49437a3f-0178″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/7biwo0pLSas” title=”Faits saillants du Troisième Forum Économique du Sénégal au Canada – 12 et 13 Mai 2017″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text] \nSenegal Economic Forum in Canada is:\n3rd edition\n350 participants\n156 B2B meetings\n4 official delegations\nAfter the first two editions\, which have been very successful both in terms of level of participation and spin-offs\, the Economic Office of the Embassy of Senegal in Canada\, in partnership with the Canadian Council on Africa is pleased to invite you to the third edition of the Economic Forum From Senegal to Canada\, scheduled for the 12th  and 13th  May 2017 in Montreal. \nPlaced under the theme: “Investment Opportunities for Canadian Businesses in Senegal”\, this year’s edition aims to highlight the attractiveness of Senegal’s business climate in order to place our country at the heart of preferred destinations for Canadian investment. \nThrough us\, several agreements have been signed between the Senegalese agency for the promotion of exports and Canadian structures\, facilitating access to the Canadian market for Senegalese companies specializing in the export of products as well as personalized support for a one year period and the training of Senegalese trainers. \nResults: Senegal’s annual exports to Canada increased from 1.3 in 2013 to $ 8.5 million in 2015 and our ambition is to multiply this figure by two in 2017. \nThe presence of Canadian investors in Senegal is steadily increasing with several trade missions conducted by the Chief of the Economic Office each year\, the most recent of which this past October 2016 with thirteen Canadian companies. \nThis year’s theme is: Investment Opportunities for Canadian Businesses in Senegal. This forum will provide a networking opportunity for the third consecutive year between the public and private sectors in Canada to explore business opportunities in Senegal. \nWith the discovery of oil and gas off the coast of Senegal (Dakar and Saint-Louis)\, it is important to train Senegalese youth in the oil and gas trades so that they can seize these opportunities by 2019 and we want to build on Canadian expertise in this area. \nWe are confident that Canadian companies have the capacity to deliver their expertise in targeted areas such as: vocational training\, agriculture\, mining\, energy\, services\, processing\, etc. \nAs a reminder: \nA double taxation agreement between Canada and Senegal has been in force since 2003. The two countries also signed an air transport agreement during Prime Minister Harper’s visit to Dakar in 2012. In addition\, an agreement on the promotion and Foreign Investment Protection (FIPA) was signed in November 2014 in Dakar\, on the sidelines of the Summit of La Francophonie\, by Minister Paradis and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Senegal. \nThis third edition of the Senegal Economic Forum in Canada will focus on the business opportunities to be captured in the context of the emerging Senegal Plan. \nA strong delegation from Senegal\, led by Minister Khoudia MBAYE and composed of ministers\, directors-general and several private sector players from Senegal\, will be traveling to Montreal to attend this event\, which is successful year after year\, take full advantage of being part of all the trade events in Canada.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Agenda” tab_id=”1487104402136-6925447f-44a4″][vc_toggle title=”Breakfast starting at 7h30″ icon=”0″ icon_closed=”0″ el_id=”1487104435531-7b68ffbd-c536″]Served at Hôtel Bonaventure[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Opening Ceremony from 8h10 to 9h00″ icon=”0″ icon_closed=”0″ el_id=”1487104612121-30781968-1b22″] \n\n\n\n\nOpening Ceremony followed by Keynote Speaches 8h10 to 9h00\, Friday May 12\nSalon Bonaventure \n\n\n\n\nWelcome address by His Excellency Ousmane PAYE\, Ambassador of Senegal to Canada\nAddress by Mr. Denis CODERRE\, Mayor of the City of Montréal\nAddress by the representative of the Quebec Government\nAddress by the representative of the Canadian Government\nAddress by the Head of the Senegalese Delegation \n[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Business opportunities in Senegal for Canadian companies from 9h15 to 12h45″ icon=”0″ icon_closed=”0″ el_id=”1487104717166-74cc97e7-ba63″] \n\n\n\nBusiness opportunities in Senegal for Canadian companies\, from 09h15 to 12h45\, Salon Bonaventure\n\n\n\nAddresses followed by Q&A\n09h15 to 09h30 Business Environment by APIX\n09h35 to 10h00 Presentation of the vision of the head of state for an emerging Senegal in 2035 and the mode of financing chosen by Senegal (Minister of Economy\, Finance and Plan)\n10h05 to 10h40 Presentation by the Minister in charge of PSE follow-up\n10h45 to 11h10 Business opportunities in agriculture (Minister of Agriculture and Rural Equipment)\n11h15 to 11h45 Business opportunities in the  vocational training sector (Minister of Vocational Training\, Crafts and Apprenticeship)\n11h50 to 12h20 Business Opportunities in the Mining sector (Minister of Industry and Mines)\n12h25 to 12h55 Business opportunities in the energy sector (Ministers of Energy and Renewable Energy)[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Lunch Conference from 13h00 to 15h00″ icon=”0″ icon_closed=”0″ el_id=”1487104887533-b488b5ed-6779″] \n\n\n\nLunch-conference\, 13h00 to 15h00\, salon Outremont\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers:\nAddress by the Head of the Senegalese delegation\nPresentation by Mr. Mountaga SY\,  General Director\, APIX\nPresentation by FONSIS General Director\nPresentation by Mr. Doudou KA\, General Director\, FONGIP \nPresentation by MIFERSO\nThe need to have a direct airline Dakar Montreal by Minister Mamouna Ndoye Seck \nRemarks by Mrs Lise Filiatrault\, Canadian Ambassador to Senegal\nTestimonials from Canadian companies in Senegal and accompaniement (Daniel Vezina\, Trade Commissioner of Canada to Senegal and Younous Mehoubi\, General Director of the Quebec bureau to Senegal) and videos from certain partners (IAMGOLD\, and \, Teranga GOLD)[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Continuation of presentations\, 15h30 to 18h00″ icon=”0″ icon_closed=”0″ el_id=”1487105065876-e0804faa-ed73″]Continuation of presentations Friday May 12 2017 from 15h30 to 18h00\nHeld in  SalonBonaventure \n15h30-16h30: Continued professional training for the emplyability of Senegalese Youth (Minister of Professional training and Canadian partners) \n16h35-17h30 Role of the ministry in charge of the follow-ups of the Plan Senegal Emergent followed by a networking cocktail[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Bilateral Meetings\, 15h20 to 18h00″ icon=”0″ icon_closed=”0″ el_id=”1490724267710-ea8f8cb0-b21e”]Bilateral Meetings Friday May 12 2017 from 15h20 to 18h00\nHeld in  Salons Frontenac\, Longueuil\, St-Michel\, St-Pierre[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Bilateral Meetings\, Saturday May 13 from 9h30 to 12h30″ icon=”0″ icon_closed=”0″ el_id=”1487105140245-67804331-bc65″]Bilateral Meetings\, Saturday May 13 from 9h30 to 12h30                        Held In Salons Frontenac\, Longueuil\, St-Michel\, St-Pierre[/vc_toggle][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Fees” tab_id=”1448464088811-82ca8803-6745″]Lunch only members CCAfrica and CORIM130$ Taxes and services not included.
