Financial Institutions – Key Partners in Doing Business in Africa

The international institutions have made great progress in the recent year to better understand the issues and challenges or developing the African continent. They have acquired considerable knowledge of the different needs and were able to make an inventory. Most large organizations, institutions and large companies have also acquired much of this knowledge. It is time to now take the next step, just as important, which is to use this knowledge so the large public and private institutions develop investment strategies on the continent: significantly increase investment. These strategies must be innovative, efficient and appropriate to the African reality. We should also rely on the experience of development organizations, such as the African Development Bank, to convince the Canadian financial institutions, investors and major investment funds, as well as Canadian companies, to take action.
To this day, the biggest challenge for companies remains the financial engineering of the projects. Between all the different sources of funding available; IFIS, investment funds, sovereign wealth funds, foundations and many others, companies often have difficulty understanding the mechanics of each institution and even the bilateral or multilateral funding.
The conference "Financial Institutions: Key partners in doing business in Africa ", that we suggest, will bring together representatives of many of these institutions and enable them to exhibit and explain their priorities, strategic directions and their projects while allowing for direct exchanges.
Among the targeted topics:
- International financial institutions, "Essentials for the African growth"
- The supply and demand of the African continent
- The contribution of investment funds and commercial banks in financing projects.
- Partnership to achieve effective financial planning and access to investment funds, a promising approach and a smart strategy in the world of globalization.
