The Canadian Council on Africa (CCAfrica) is pleased to join the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade in inviting you to a Trade and Investment Forum to be organized by the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (Ethiopia) on January 17, 2020 – Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm. The Forum will be held at Ontario Investment and Trade center (OITC) located at 250 Yonge Street, 35th Floor, Toronto (at Eaton Center, Toronto). The purpose of this Special Event is to present market opportunities in Ethiopia for many sectors including ICT, Clean Tech, Energy, and Mining. The event will be good opportunity for Ontario companies that would like to explore the Ethiopian market, it is also important for companies that need to join Canada Trade and Investment Mission to Ethiopia on February 10 – 13th, 2020, organized by the Ethiopian Embassy in Ottawa.

Ethiopia is the second-most populous country in Sub-Saharan Africa and home to one of the world’s oldest civilizations. The country has experienced strong economic growth in recent years, consistently outperformed most other countries in Africa and expanded much faster than the continent-wide average. Ethiopia which is actively involved in trade relations with Canada, is undergoing an enormous transformation and expansion in its mining sector. Ethiopia is host to approximately 118 global diplomatic missions. The African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) are headquartered in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, making it the third largest diplomatic city in the world next to Brussels and Washington DC.
