Mining Indaba 2015
February 8, 2015 @ 8:00 am - February 12, 2015 @ 5:00 pm
The Canadian Council on Africa, for a third consecutive year, is coordinating Canada’s participation at Mining Indaba 2015. This year is special for the Canadian presence at Mining Indaba as we celebrate the Canadian Pavilion anchoring the event for 15 years. Additionally, the Canadian government is further branding Canada’s excellence in the extractive industry as it launched its new strategy to support the Canadian extractive industry abroad.
The Canadian Council on Africa and the government of Canada invite you to join once again the Canada Pavilion at Investing in African Mining Indaba 2015 in Cape Town, South Africa.
For two decades, the annual Mining Indaba has served as the pathway for foreign investments into Africa’s mining value chain – opportunities ranging from small diamond deposits to mega coal projects. Mining Indaba has become the platform of choice for governments, mining companies, investors and analysts to break market sensitive information. Each year, Mining Indaba brings more than 7,000 delegates representing more than 110 countries across six continents for a week of unparalleled deal making and discovery in African mining.
The Canada Pavilion is not only one of the long time premier booths at Mining Indaba, it is also the meeting place of several major players within the Canadian and African mining sector. The Canada Pavilion has a strong “Team Canada” approach with past key partners such as Natural Resource Canada (NRCan), Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (DFATD), the Government of Quebec, the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), the Mining Association of Canada (MAC), and Export Development Canada (EDC).
Previously, the Canada Pavilion has been led by the Hon. Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development and la Francophonie, and M. Benoit La Salle (Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Council on Africa), along with 90 senior level key decision makers from both the private and public sectors.
